And here's another design...I think I like this one more. Posted by Hello

For the top of the cake we want an initial cake topper. It's simple and elegant. This is one design.

edit: Kevin prefers this one, so it's probably the one we'll get.Posted by Hello

See how pretty the thing is the cake's sitting on? We'll probably just end up with disposable doilies tho ;) cheeper Posted by Hello

This shows better how they would be displayed. Smaller cakes on the lower levels with a top cake with roses and our silver monogram cake topper. The cakes will probably be set on something like the cake I'm posting next. Posted by Hello

these are a better picture IMHO. I love the monogrammed one (without the pearls...pearls are bad luck in Mexican weddings) I wouldn't have all the different writing tho...just the initials and the roses with white fondant and a coloured (probably red) piping around the bottom Posted by Hello

Remember my cake? Well I had to find better pictures to show my friend who is making it. So this is roughly the style and size I want. A little smaller, but round like this with half with (bigger) roses and coloured frosting piped on the bottom instead of ribbon and the other half with monograms.

edit: I completely forgot how I wanted jasmine flowers on the cake instead of roses or anything else! How silly am I! So now I have to look for pics of jasmine to see if she can do it on the cake. And did i mention all the scented votieves are most probably gonna be jasmine scented? YEP! LOVES IT!!! Posted by Hello

the reception Set up

Ideally I'm going to make a mock of the reception tables once we move and tweak them and take pictures so that way I can make sure it's exactly what we want (mostly me lol) and then there will be pictures so whomever is helping to set things up will know exactly how it's supposed to go. I'm gonna go the same thing with our reception table. We have a small long table I can play with as well. I'm getting excited!

I'm thinking most of the reception flowers will end up being silk and the ceremony flowers will be real. This will help with cost AND will provide lasting momentos if people decide to take them (and you know they will:p)

And last but not least here's a great chair wrap to dress things up without being too labor or time intensive. We wouldn't do all the chairs...just every other one at each table ... and of those I'm thinking half will be white tulle with red roses (or reddish roses depending on what we can get) and the other half with be red tulle with white roses. Posted by Hello

This will be our centerpieces. GERBERA DAISIES! I would have never thought of them if it weren't for Connie and ghost *huggles* I found how to make these on a website and I'm gonna get silk gerber daisies to make them. Around the centerpiece I will have 3 or 5 scented votive candles in a circle and probably either a shiny confetti around as well or perhaps some mardi gras beads in complimentary colours. We're gonna have mardi gras beads anyway cuz we're serving Hurricanes...a shout out to our favorite city New Orleans! Posted by Hello

Okay this is the big one...Here's how I picture the tables looking. This picture shows black organza on top...we will be using a regular black linen. Posted by Hello

Here we go! This is the size of the bridesmaids bouquets I'm picuring. With the lilacs and gardenias (altho are the daisies cute!?!) Posted by Hello

Aren't these great! I might have to convince Kevin to get these for favors...Since we're gonna give our favors away in Chinese Take-out Boxes Posted by Hello

I really like this for the ring bearer pillow. And it would be uber easy to make. Might change the colours a little...maybe a black pillow with white ribbon...or a white pillow with red ribbon...not sure on that yet. Posted by Hello

The gardenias Posted by Hello

the bridesmaids bouqet will be a combo of this lilac bouquet (a little less full) with the gardenias above! Posted by Hello

I loved this wedding dress....Not sure about it for me, but i simply had to share it. It's so pretty and playful and romantic IMHO Posted by Hello

An one more Centerpiece idea...kinda like the first but varied flowers...altho I like the idea of just roses i must say. Posted by Hello

I'm really not sure I would do this actually, but how pretty is it? And who knows, in the year I have left I might change my mind ;) Posted by Hello
